I had been getting notices for awhile for the Julep Maven box. I finally decided to bite, though I’m not a nail polish fanatic.
Julep has their own product line and though it includes skincare and other items, the main focus is the polish. After receiving my first box, I later found out that Julep will often put out special edition “mystery” boxes. (Find mystery box and other Julep reviews here.)
I’m not entirely sure at this point if I will continue with this monthly subscription. I’ve been really happy with my purchases but I think I’m maxing out on the make-up and beauty items. Still, with the holidays coming up, boxes like this set me up for some great gift-giving!
Now on to this month’s box:
THE DETAILS: The Julep Maven box costs $24.99 per month and you typically get two polishes and a beauty product of some sort, based on some preferences you fill out when you join. You also get a short window each month to make some selections for the next month’s box and you can purchase add-ons as well, which typically come at a deeper discount when added to the box. This box ships throughout the U.S. and Canada and shipping is included in the price. It is non-refundable but Julep just changed the policy so that you can “skip” a month whenever you want.
Here’s the first look. I actually took the time to self-select my box so this one wasn’t a huge surprise on that front. As well, I purchased an add-on.
The box came with a few sweet treats. Again, Julep, you kill my diet with some of my favorite candy by Goetze’s! These have been around since 1917 and retail value is maybe $0.25.
The first item I pull out is the add-on item, Julep’s Ta Da! Quick Dry Drops. Last time I tried to get this, it was sold out so I snapped it up for this month’s box. It retails for $14 but I got it at the discounted price of $6.99.
The first polish in this box was called Kiki and was described by Julep as an oceanic silver shimmer. I like this color…but I don’t love it so it will be swapped or gifted. Retail price for this is $14.
The next polish is called Marzia. It is described as pewter chrome. Again, a pretty color but also one for which I have similar shades. This retails for $14.
The final polish for this month was Eden. It is beautiful!! I don’t have anything like this so I am super excited to get it! It also has a retail value of $14.
There were some big wins in this box and as noted previously, the rest will make really great gifts. I paid $31.98 for it and received $56 worth of product which is not bad. Can’t wait to see what comes in the stand-alone order that is coming later this month!
