Back in October, I reviewed a special, limited edition Petbox that I ordered on it’s own because it supported the movement against domestic violence and abuse. Buy with purpose, my friends!
Petbox also put out a limited edition, holiday box and had a deal where if you gifted it, you got additional points that you could use to add items to the box. So I gifted it to Wednesday and what arrived was a smorgasbord of toys, treats, and pet necessities!
Can’t wait to dig in!
See my other Petbox reviews here.
THE DETAILS: Petbox caters to both dogs and cats (and even, possibly, other pets like pigs based on a line I read on their site). They do not currently ship outside of the U.S. and a single box from the deluxe plan (2-3 items a box) will run you $19.95 a month (includes shipping). Groupon recently had a deal, so I picked up the three-month deluxe subscription for $32.99 total- i.e. $10.99 a month. One difference with Petbox is that you can be surprised every month or you can hand-pick your items, so there seems to be quite a bit of flexibility. Especially for those of you with both dogs and cats since you can mix items for both pets in one box. Also, for each box shipped they donate a meal to a rescue animal; there is a place on their site for rescue organizations to sign up to be partners.
This limited edition, holiday box cost $29.95.
Petbox’s packaging does a great job of reminding you that your purchase has also done some good for a homeless pet.
Here’s the first look. I can see at least seven items in there! Wow! Wednesday is going to be a very lucky dog on Christmas morning.
The first item I pull out is this “Hip Sneaker” toy by PrideBites. It has a retail value of $9.99.
The very first item I pull out is much needed. It is a five-pack of made-in-the-USA Happy Howie’s lamb sausages. I already know these will get devoured so will be holding on to these for special occasions. The retail value is $6.49.
Well W does poop a lot. So another set of bags will ensure we don’t have to go buy any for awhile. These are by Earth Rated, are lavender scented (not a fan of scented bags but I’ll deal), and are compostable/made out of recycled materials. This is two months worth and has a retail value of $6.99.
This Tropiclean Fresh Breath Oral Care Water Additive is a nice surprise. W could use some breath freshening so hopefully she will take to having this in her water. It has a retail value of $6.93.
This is a sampler of more of Happy Howie’s offerings. One looks like their Mini Beef Dog Burger Treat. Estimated retail value is about $1.38.
This is also a a sample size of Copper’s Classics Beef Ears. Estimated retail value on this is about $1.08.
These Sadie’s Sweet Pawtato Chips (sample size) will probably be eaten up in a flash; W loves sweet potato! Retail value is maybe $1.
Next up is Jolly Pets Romp-n-Roll toy. We have a similar toy rolling around the house so we’ll save this for when that one wears out. It has a retail value of $6.99.
More treats! I think we are set for the rest of the year on treats! These are by Old Mother Hubbard and are their Jingle Jangle P-Nuttier variety. They retail for $1.27.
Last but not least is the big guy himself! This is a really cute ZippyPaws Santa Claus toy. We may keep it around for awhile so that he doesn’t get destroyed too quickly. ‘Tis the season, after all! I found it online for $9.99.
Wow, well W definitely raked it in this season! This box alone has a grand total value of $52.11. Considering I paid $29.95 for it, that’s a pretty good value. I felt like I also received great value for their last limited edition box so I’m thinking that’s the way to go when it comes to Petbox.
Wishing you all a magical season filled with joy, cheer, and light!
