Subscription Box Insanity: Little Lace Box (Jun. ’15)

Little Lace Box

Little Lace Box

I’m very excited about a subscription called Little Lace Box. Their motto is a box that is “for women who know they’re worth it”. A very tall order!

I missed out on LLB’s September box, which included some beautiful home items that I totally lusted after. I couldn’t purchase the box after the fact but was able to sign up for future boxes. (See my reviews from past boxes here.)

THE DETAILS: The Little Lace Box promises to deliver “hand-curated, nearly impossible-to-find designer products directly to your doorstep every month”. [UPDATE: LLB is now only shipping boxes every other month.] In fact, according to their site, it will be “brimming with high-end, brand name beauty, lifestyle, and home product samples to treat yourself to and dazzle your friends during your next night out”. They do not currently deliver internationally, only to the U.S. and Puerto Rico. The cost of a box is $39.99 which includes shipping. [UPDATE: Boxes for new subscribers now cost $49.99; previous subscribers have been grandfathered in at the original price.] I had a coupon and was able to get my first box for $29.99. This box is non-refundable. LLB also has a loyalty program so you earn points for purchasing products on their site.

LLB Note & Next Box Theme Reveal

LLB Note & Next Box Theme Reveal

Each of the LLB’s come with a great note from the founders about the theme, as well as a hint at what the next box’s theme will be. On the back is a description/price list for the items in the box, with further notes on each item. The next box (August) will have a theme of “Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy”.  These are two characters from famous author Jane Austen‘s novel Pride and Prejudice. Thanks to my own mom, I adore Austen’s novels- and BBC movies of them. So I can’t wait to see what this box will bring!

First Look

First Look

Here’s the first look! This month’s theme is Classy and Fabulous and there looks to be a bit of both in this box.

Kitsch Ring in Amethyst

Kitsch Ring in Amethyst

The first item I am drawn to is this beautiful 14K gold and amethyst ring by Kitsch. I love amethyst and the styling of this ring is unique . Definitely a keeper! Retail value is $24.99.

Little Lace Box Pour Some Sugar on Me scrub in Coconut Mango Mimosa

Little Lace Box Pour Some Sugar on Me scrub in Coconut Mango Mimosa

This is an item from Little Lace Box’s own line. It’s their “Pour Some Sugar Scrub On Me” scrub in Coconut Mango Mimosa. I love bath products but the scent of this was not my favorite. That’s okay, it’s a great size and can be gifted or swapped! This size retails for $19.99.

Packable Summer Hat: San Diego Hat Co.

Packable Summer Hat: San Diego Hat Co.

This is The Packable Summer Hat by San Diego Hat Co. It’s a very ingenious design but I’m not sold on the color scheme or style. Retail value is $22.04.

LucyB's Apothecary Nail Polish - Starlet

LucyB’s Apothecary Nail Polish – Starlet

This is a nice, neutral, French pink by LucyB’s Apothercary called Starlet. I’ve got a similar color so will be gifting/swapping this. Retail value of these are $13.

Little Lace Box Watercolor Print Silk Scarf

Little Lace Box Watercolor Print Silk Scarf

The final item in this box is a silk scarf in a watercolor print that was designed specifically for Little Lace Box. This is pretty and high quality but its color scheme is not quite my style. Again, a nice item for gifting or swapping. Retail value is $44.99.

Of all the boxes I’ve yet received, this one I find to be a bit…less than. The items are nice but I wasn’t wowed by them as I usually am when I open up an LLB box. Ah well; the total retail value for these items is $125.01. That’s once again more than 3 times the normal monthly price of $39.99.

Stay tuned for August’s box which has the theme of “Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy”!
