I had been getting notices for awhile for the Julep Maven box. I finally decided to bite, though I’m not a nail polish fanatic.
Julep has their own product line and though it includes skincare and other items, the main focus is the polish. After receiving my first box, I later found out that Julep will often put out special edition “mystery” boxes. (Find mystery box and other Julep reviews here.)
Now on to this month’s box:
THE DETAILS: The Julep Maven box costs $24.99 per month and you typically get two polishes and a beauty product of some sort, based on some preferences you fill out when you join. You also get a short window each month to make some selections for the next month’s box and you can purchase add-ons as well, which typically come at a deeper discount when added to the box. This box ships throughout the U.S. and Canada and shipping is included in the price. It is non-refundable but Julep just changed the policy so that you can “skip” a month whenever you want.
Here’s the first look. I can’t remember now if I switched my selections for this box or just went with the default.
As usual, this box came with a few sweet treats. Red Bird Soft Peppermint Puffs; retail value is about $0.06.
The first item I pull out is this great summer color called Juliana, described by Julep as a pink grapefruit sheer iridescent. It retails for $14.
Next up is a new product from Julep. It’s their Your Cuticles Look Thirsty Fast-Absorbing Cuticle Creme. My cuticles have been terrible of late so I opened this up right away to try; it smells yummy! Retail price for this is $20.
The final item in my box is Alexa. It is described as a hyacinth crème. A pretty color but I think I have one very similar to it; so it’s getting swapped. This retails for $14.
I was really pleased with this box. I paid $24.99 for it and received $48.06 worth of product. I’ve always felt pretty good about my Julep products and think I will be taking the Juliana color with me to my next appointment at the nail salon!
