I had been getting notices for awhile for the Julep Maven box. I finally decided to bite, though I’m not a nail polish fanatic.
Julep has their own product line and though it includes skincare and other items, the main focus is the polish. After receiving my first box, I later found out that Julep will often put out special edition “mystery” boxes. (Find mystery box and other Julep reviews here.)
Now on to this month’s box:
THE DETAILS: The Julep Maven box costs $24.99 per month and you typically get two polishes and a beauty product of some sort, based on some preferences you fill out when you join. You also get a short window each month to make some selections for the next month’s box and you can purchase add-ons as well, which typically come at a deeper discount when added to the box. This box ships throughout the U.S. and Canada and shipping is included in the price. It is non-refundable but Julep just changed the policy so that you can “skip” a month whenever you want.
Here’s the first look. For this box I chose my selections but also ordered a mystery polish and Julep gave all subscribers an additional bonus polish. Score!
The first item I selected for my box this month is this Party’s Over Glitter Nail Polish Removal Kit. It definitely can be a chore to remove glittery nail polish so I thought this would come in handy! It retails for $28.
My second selection for this box is one of Julep’s It’s Balm Full-Coverage Lip Crayon in Vintage Mauve. I actually love this color on me! I have rosy lips so I usually can’t wear light pink colors as it ends up looking like lipgloss; this is just dark enough to add a hint of cool color that will be perfect for fall. Yay! Retail price for this is $16.
Next up is this bonus polish that Julep sent all subscribers in the color Julep! It retails for $14.
The final item is an add-on called the “Hyde Park Corner Mystery” that I paid $4.99 for. Sadly it was a dud because not only do I not find this color known as Keiko – a charred olive shimmer- appealing, but I’ve already received a copy of this in another box. Definitely up for the swap pile! This retails for $14.
There were mostly wins in this box. I paid $29.98 for it (including the mystery polish) and received $72 worth of product which is not bad.
Have you tried Julep yet?
