Subscription Box Insanity: Birchbox Fresh Start (Limited Edition Box ’15)

Birch Box Limited Edition

Birch Box Limited Edition

The box I’m reviewing today is from a company called Birchbox. I was actually turned on to this subscription because I saw an old advertisement for their Limited Edition Fall Fete offering and just had to have it.

I had their regular subscription for a few months but I’m a bit overwhelmed with beauty products and am really picky, to boot. So I ultimately canceled it. (See my other Birchbox reviews here.)

However, Birchbox recently released a new, limited edition box called “Fresh Start“. This particular limited edition box is still for sale so while you miss out on the surprise factor, if you like what you see, you are assured of getting your money’s worth.  Continue reading

Birchbox is a pretty popular box and since it has such a low price point, I figured it was worth a shot to try it out. I was actually turned on to it because I saw their limited edition Fall Fete box and purchased this monthly box alongside it.

I did a doubleheader on this box for September/October which you can read here.

This will be my third month of this box and I’m planning on using it to solidify my decision around keeping or passing on this subscription.   Continue reading

So with orders over $35 at Birchbox, you can get a “Mystery Sample Pack” for free with your order. You have to remember to add it to your cart before you place your order though. If you forget, contact Customer Service…I did this and they both added it for free and shipped it separately for free. Now that’s customer service! You can also purchase the sample pack for $10. As you’ve probably noticed, I am sort of up to my ears in subscription boxes lately so that was one of the reasons I opted to do a Birchbox doubleheader and review September and October’s boxes at the same time.

The other reason was that for most of these boxes, I’m giving them about three months to demonstrate their value to me. So I figured actually looking at several month’s worth in the same post might help you and I both figure out if it’s a “do” or a “dud”! Continue reading

Subscription Box Insanity: Birchbox Fall Fete (Limited Edition Box ’14)

Birchbox has arrived!

Birchbox has arrived!

It’s been really fun trying out new boxes lately. Not just because it’s fun to get a surprise in the mail, but also because as a former entrepreneur, I’ve been feeling the old, familiar itch to strike out on my own and have been wondering if a subscription box service might be the way to do it. So this all has become a bit of “market research”. Nice!

The box I’m reviewing today is from a company called Birchbox. I was actually turned on to this subscription because I saw an old advertisement for this Limited Edition Fall Fete offering and just had to have it.

I am a Sephora fanatic (or at least I was until I fulfilled my wishlist) so the last few years I’ve spent some serious time- and moolah- figuring out what products worked for me, solidifying a skincare regimen, etc. I guess that’s why even though I am currently testing out several beauty product-focused subscriptions, a box like this one, which focuses on hearth and home, was just really exciting! We are hoping to make our first home purchase soon and I’ve been doing a lot of window (and real-time) shopping for that future space.

This particular limited edition box is still for sale so while you miss out on the surprise factor, if you like what you see, you are assured of getting your money’s worth. Because it is a limited edition box, it retails for $42 normally. I had a code for 25% off, plus got free shipping for purchasing a new subscription alongside it, so only ended up paying $31.50 for this box.  Continue reading
